Modernism Auction

Our annual Modernism Auction will be held in Saint Louis, May 17 & 18, 2008.  We are assembling an exceptional collection of mid-century furniture, decorative art objects, architectural elements, paintings, prints and drawings.

HARVEY ELLIS, AMERICAN (1852-1904)

Featuring an exceptional and rare oak desk for Gustav Stickley, circa 1903-04, with lemon wood, sycamore, exotic woods, copper and pewter inlay; the lower member raised on four plank legs and having three drawers with brass pulls, raised on four flat legs on trestle shoe feet joined by a stretcher, the upper member with two rows of three drawers flanking an accordion cabinet front enclosing a pigeon hole interior, signed with Stickley's red compass mark, minor losses.
